I met Tim Gunn tonight…so AMAZING.
I went to see him speak and waited in line with a friend so she could get her book signed. They said no personal pictures because of the long wait - so I had not intended to get to talk to him.
As my friend and I got close to the table, I introduced myself to the event coordinator and explained that I would love to partner with him on future events. (I work at another college in the same area). I told him, “you guys knocked it out of the park with this event”, at which point Tim, overhearing what I just said, looks up at me and says “that is a really sweet to thing to say…what is your name?”. My knees went a little jelly like. He shook my hand and I stumbled out some sort of “thank you”. Then, we took the picture and he thanked me for being there.
AHHHH! He is such an incredibly sweet, humble person!
